Prof. (Dr.) Renu Malaviya is Professor and Dean, Faculty of Behavioural Sciences, SGT University, and former Professor and Head, Department of Education, Lady Irwin College, University of Delhi. With over four decades of experience in teaching, research, training, and extension, she holds advanced degrees in Child Development, Education, and a Ph.D. from Jawaharlal Nehru University on Family–School Interaction.

An RCI-certified Special Educator, CBSE Master Trainer, and mental health professional, Prof. Malaviya has led and collaborated on national and international projects with UNFPA, ILO, CARE, Save the Children, UGC, NCERT, and international universities including Edinburgh and King’s College London. She has authored over 25 academic books and contributed extensively to edited volumes and educational modules.

She has held key roles including Secretary, AIWEFA; Patron, Parikrama-India; Academic Director, Voice4Ability; and Joint Secretary & Editor, Indian Family Therapy Association. As Advisor to the University of Delhi’s Equal Opportunity Cell and the Commissioner for Disability (GoI), she has advanced inclusive education, with a focus on specific learning disabilities. Her work on intergenerational bonding and the transition to womanhood for adolescent girls with disabilities and mental health concerns has been widely appreciated. She also serves on the governing bodies of several schools.

Recognized nationally, she contributes to NCERT, SCERT, NTA, CBSE, ICSE, and other academic institutions, with expertise in pedagogy, parenting, life skills, gender sensitization, intergenerational bonding, and mental health. She is also known for her advocacy in the human-animal interface.
