SGT University Hosts High-Level Seminar on India–Israel Relations

The Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences and Liberal Arts (FHSL), SGT University, in collaboration with the Central Coordination Cell and the American Jewish Committee (AJC), hosted a landmark seminar on “Bridging Horizons: India, Israel and a Shared Vision for Progress and Unity” on August 25, 2025, at the University’s TV Studio, B-Block.
The seminar began on a gracious note with a warm welcome address by our Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, whose leadership and vision have continually inspired SGT University to foster global academic dialogues. Setting the tone for the day, Mr. Fares Saeb, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of Israel, delivered the Keynote Address, highlighting the depth of India–Israel relations and their role in shaping the global order.
The distinguished panel included eminent voices such as Ambassador Sanjay Bhattacharya, Ambassador Y.K. Sinha (Former Chief Information Commissioner of India), Lt Gen Dushyant Singh (Retd.), Director General, CLAWS, and Maj Gen Dhruv C Katoch (Retd.), Director, India Foundation. Their insights provided high-level perspectives on diplomacy, defence, and global strategy.
The AJC panel further enriched the discussions with contributions from Mr. Arjun Hardas (India Representative, AJC), Mr. Sandeep Unnithan (Editor-in-Chief, Chakra News), Dr. Manjari Singh (CENJOWS), Mr. Abhijit Iyer-Mitra (IPCS), Ms. Joyeeta Basu (Editor, The Sunday Guardian), and Mr. Savio Rodrigues (Founder, Goa Chronicle). Each brought warmth, depth, and unique perspectives on geopolitics, media, and cultural diplomacy.
The event concluded with an engaging interactive session, where students and faculty actively participated, asking thoughtful questions and exchanging views. The energy and curiosity of the students made the dialogue especially meaningful.
This seminar not only deepened understanding of India–Israel ties but also reflected SGT University’s commitment to fostering global partnerships, intercultural dialogue, and policy-driven learning.
It was a day of ideas, warmth, and shared vision—bringing together academia, diplomacy, and the spirit of collaboration.
