FMMT & ACIC Celebrate World Entrepreneurs Day at SGT University
The Faculty of Mass Communication and Media Technology (FMMT) in collaboration with the Atal Community Innovation Centre (ACIC), under the aegis of the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), celebrated World Entrepreneurs Day. The event aimed to foster entrepreneurial skills, nurture creativity, and inspire students to embrace innovation as a career pathway.
The celebration began at 9:00 AM in Room No. 008, Ground Floor, A Block, with an Expert Talk by Ms. Pushpa Nair, a noted entrepreneurship mentor and innovation strategist. She emphasized the need for young professionals to think beyond traditional career choices and embrace entrepreneurship as a mindset.
Sharing her insights, Ms. Nair remarked, “Entrepreneurship is not only about building a business, it is about building resilience. To succeed in today’s world, one must cultivate both emotional intelligence and human intelligence, because businesses grow when they are rooted in empathy and human values.”
She further explained that while creativity and innovation form the backbone of entrepreneurship, qualities like adaptability, patience, and communication skills are equally important. The session also included a panel interaction where students actively engaged with the speaker, raising questions about the challenges of launching startups in the media and communication domain. This was followed by student engagement activities that encouraged participants to brainstorm creative ideas and pitch them to their peers.
Reflecting on the program, a faculty spokesperson noted, “World Entrepreneurs Day is not just a celebration but also a platform for our students to learn how creativity and innovation can be transformed into sustainable career opportunities.”
