FMMT Students of SGT University Participate in 2nd Sustainable Agriculture Summit & Awards 2025
Students from the Faculty of Mass Communication and Media Technology (FMMT), SGT University, Gurugram, made their presence felt at the prestigious 2nd Sustainable Agriculture Summit & Awards 2025, held in New Delhi. The event was a remarkable confluence of policymakers, industry leaders, scientists, civil servants, and young innovators, all coming together to deliberate on the future of sustainable agriculture in India.
The summit witnessed the gracious presence of key dignitaries, including Shri Ram Nath Thakur, Hon’ble Minister of State for Agriculture, Government of India, and Shri Ramdas Athawale, Hon’ble Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. Shri Parvesh Sahib Singh, Hon’ble Cabinet Minister of PWD, Legislative Affairs, Irrigation & Flood Control, and Water, Government of NCT of Delhi, was also present as Guest of Honour. The event drew participation from senior IAS and IFS officers, leading scientists, progressive farmers, and thought leaders from across the agricultural ecosystem.
Students from the BAJMC and MAJMC programs at FMMT actively contributed to the successful execution of the summit’s media operations. Their roles encompassed managing social media in real time, conducting interviews, handling live streaming and technical support, writing content for digital and print dissemination, and producing high-quality photo and video documentation of the event. By engaging directly with the summit’s proceedings, students were able to apply their classroom knowledge in a dynamic real-world setting.
This opportunity allowed students to hone their professional skills in journalism, media production, live event coverage, and communication strategy. They also gained insight into key issues surrounding sustainable agriculture, such as environmental challenges, rural innovation, and policy frameworks. The event served as a bridge between academic learning and industry experience, reinforcing the importance of experiential education in media studies.
FMMT’s participation in the summit was a clear demonstration of SGT University’s commitment to fostering global and national engagement through its industry-aligned curriculum. The faculty continues to support its students in gaining hands-on experience by facilitating exposure to real-time media practices, national-level policy dialogues, and interactions with professionals and changemakers.
